The song speaks to me through the eyes of a child who as been stripped away from a life and brought to a new unrecognizable place filled with memories of another family. Trains and sewing machines; trains being how they arrived, and sewing machines, not in the literal sense but "fixing" machines that will attempt to repair the old life they once lived.
